Maj.-Gen GU Chibuisi, Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), and Maj.-Gen IS Ali, Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), jointly performed operational visits to MNJTF Sector 3 and Sector 4 troops taking part in operation HARBIN ZUMA on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

In his remarks, the FC explained that the purpose of the visit to the troops on the front lines was to evaluate how the operations were being carried out in order to improve them.

In his remarks, the TC expressed his delight with the bravery and fervor displayed by the troops while urged them to become more focused, resilient, and ruthless as the operation moves forward in order to eliminate the remaining BH/ISWAP terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region.

The Force Commander assesses the level of readiness of the Sectors 3 and 4 troops for their assigned missions. This entails evaluating their tools, instruction, and general state of preparation for successfully completing their operational tasks. There is no doubt that the Force Commander’s presence has improved the morale of the men. It demonstrates how their efforts and sacrifices are valued at the highest levels of leadership. In his message to the troops, the Force Commander praised their accomplishments and offered words of support and encouragement.

The operational visit also gave the Force Commander a chance to speak with the troops face-to-face, hear their issues, and get their opinions on various elements of their operations. This feedback might be used to pinpoint problem areas and resolve any concerns the troops might be having.

The Force Commander evaluates the accommodations for the troops in the two sectors in terms of their living situations and welfare programs. This involves assessing the caliber of the accommodations, medical care, logistical assistance, and other crucial services offered to the troops.

An operational visit by the Force Commander to Sector 3 and Sector 4 troops is generally intended to increase operational effectiveness, promote morale, and ensure the welfare of the troops stationed in such sectors. It strengthens the chain of command, promotes communication, and facilitates strategic decision-making with knowledge.
