Over 116 alleged miscreants have been paraded by 9 Brigade Nigerian Army during an operation as part of the Still Waters Operation in the Lagos Metropolitan Area. According to reports, the suspect was apprehended on the Railside, Brown Street, Araromi, and other parts of the State’s Oshodi axis.
Speaking to reporters, Brigadier General Isongubong Effiong Akpoumutia, the Brigade Commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, said: “We are here because we searched various places in Oshodi, including the Brown Street, Araromi, and some volatile area regarding the activities of hoodlums in that region. The operation, which lasted from 1 am to 5 am, resulted in the arrest of over 116 miscreants.
The Commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army said, some of the items we took from the thugs included a locally produced pistol that was cut to size, eight phones, local charms, money, an Indian hemp Tramadol bible, an ATM, an MTN sim card, luggage, and more. The suspects would undergo screening before being turned over to the proper authority.
In particular, those with charm, dangerous weapon, drug addict, or drug baron, we will hand them over to NDLEA, the Police, or any Agent in charge of those Crimes. We will screen before we hand them over to the Police those ones that are found capable or anyone who is innocent of cause we will leave them.
Speaking further, Akpoumutia said: “People shouldn’t be concerned; the security agencies are in command. People should carry on with their regular routines.” As I talk to you right now, the identical deed is being done in the Festac Area, and mile 2 there is proceeding without a hitch. We shall continue to put in more effort only to keep Lagos secure.
