The Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration 2023 on 15 January 2023 ended in style with a grand finale of a wreath-laying ceremony to honour both the dead and living heroes of the nation. The event was held at the Arcade Government House, Agodi Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day was a week-long activity that started with the launching of the emblem at the House of Chiefs and the Secretariat, followed by a special Jumaat Service on Friday 6 January 2023, and Interdenominational Church Service, 8 January 2023 both in 2 Division Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day was well attended by the Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer, His Excellency Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde and his wife Mrs Olufunke Makinde, the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Aminu Chinade, Commander 671 NAF Detachment Air Commodore IV Ajiboye, Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Mr Williams Adebowale, Speaker Oyo State Rt Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, Administrative Judge Oyo State Hon. Justice Iyabo Yeringa, Chairman Nigerian Legion Evangelist Julius Adeyemi, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land His Imperial Majesty Oba Lekan Balogun, other Senior Officers, Officers and Soldiers and members of Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 2 Division Chapter.

The event climaxed with the inspection of guards, laying of the wreath, Special Prayers, blowing of the Last Post, Reveille, firing of three volleys and the release of Ceremonial Pigeons by the Governor as a mark of peace and freedom for the nation.
