Police in Katsina had killed two wanted terrorists who had recently been on the Security watch list in the State. The terrorists Abu Na-Iraqi and Abu Na-Masari were reportedly murdered by the police at Sokoto-Rima Quarters in the state’s Dutsinma Local Government Area.

The two wanted terrorists invaded the quarters to abduct locals before they were slain, according to a statement made by SP Gambo Isah, the state police command’s spokesman.

The Police Spokesperson added that two AK-47 rifles were found among the attackers who barraged the neighborhood in huge numbers at around 7:30 PM and started firing randomly.

According to the Police PRO, on December 13, 2022, at around 1930 hours, terrorists in their numbers raided Sokoto-Rima Quarters in Katsina state’s Dutsinma LGA with the intention of kidnapping several citizens.

Dutsinma, the Police Area Commander, and his crew subsequently moved quickly to the area and engaged the terrorists in a gunfight.

We neutralized two (2) infamous terrorists, Abu Na-Iraqi and Abu Na-Masari, who were on the police’s wanted list, and we also collected two (2) AK-47 weapons from them.

“Search parties are still scouring the area in an effort to apprehend further syndicate members who fled the site after being shot in order to collect their operating weapons. Please be patient while we investigate.
In a similar vein, the Katsina Police Command reported on Monday that it had successfully freed one Alhaji Ali and three other abducted victims from Unguwar Rinji in Ruwayau Village, Kurfi LGA of the state.

The DPO Kurfi, according to SP Gambo, led a tactical force to block the terrorists’ exit path as they left the neighborhood with their hostages and was able to repel them after engaging them in a hard gun battle.
