The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has been given a direct order by the Commissioner of Police Anambra State to find the policeman shown in a viral video accepting a bribe at a checkpoint. The prompt response reveals the police force’s dedication to thwarting corruption and upholding honesty among its members.

The widely shared video on social media shows a police officer in uniform blatantly receiving a bribe from a driver at a roadblock. The public’s massive disapproval of the video brought attention to the urgent need for law enforcement accountability and openness.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, lost little time in responding to the situation once word of the video spread. The DPO was given specific orders from the Commissioner to immediately begin an investigation into the event. The DPO was given instructions to locate and detain the negligent officer so that the proper disciplinary measures could be applied.

“The behaviors shown in the trending video are reprehensible and damage the reputation of the police department. The police commissioner declared, “We have no tolerance for corruption, and any officer discovered participating in such wrongdoing would suffer serious repercussions.

The Commissioner underlined the value of maintaining the police force’s commitment to the values of integrity, professionalism, and public confidence. The force is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, and the prompt response to the viral video sends a message to both officers and the public that misconduct will not be allowed.

The DPO is required to launch an inquiry right away, using the knowledge and resources at their disposal to determine which officer is at fault. The public’s assistance was also requested in order to collect any further data or proof that would help with the investigation.

The commitment to openness and responsibility in dealing with such misconduct was emphasized by the commissioner of police, who reassured the public that proper disciplinary procedures would be taken against the officer following his arrest. This proactive strategy aims to reestablish public trust in the police force and show that unethical activity will be punished with prompt and forceful retaliation.

Police have urged the public to keep reporting any examples of police wrongdoing or corruption as the inquiry develops. This call for active citizen involvement highlights the shared duty in battling corruption and fostering an integrity-oriented culture within the law enforcement sector.

The force’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity was reiterated by the police commissioner. The situation depicted in the trending video will be properly examined, and the necessary steps will be taken to stop similar wrongdoing from happening again.

The Commissioner of Police’s swift action shows his resolve to defend the rule of law and accountability and his dedication to eliminating corruption within the police force. It strengthens the public’s confidence in law enforcement by sending a clear message that any officer engaged in such misconduct will be held accountable.
