The Nigeria Police Force held a 3-day induction course on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, to train officers who had been appointed as Chief Security Officers (CSOs), Aide-de-Camps (ADCs), Orderlies to State Governors, and other Very Important Persons (VIPs) on their duties and responsibilities while carrying out protective services in their different postings.
53 CSOs, ADCs, and 18 orderlies attended the induction training, according to a statement from the Force Public Relations Office’s CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. In addition to covering specific policies and etiquette that must be strictly adhered to, the training also addressed Rules of Engagement and Standard Operational Procedures to use in a variety of simulated circumstances. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, was on location to oversee the course together with seasoned officers with a lot of practical experience.
The Inspector-General of Police underlined the importance of professionalism and dedication in providing these specialized policing services efficiently and gave the officers and men instructions to always improve themselves for efficiency.
Threat assessment, risk management, emergency response, crowd control, intelligence gathering, and effective communication skills are just a few of the topics that the training sessions are anticipated to cover. To further their understanding and hone their decision-making skills in difficult circumstances, the participants are also expected to participate in practical exercises, simulations, and interactive sessions.
The program gave participants the chance to exchange best practices and share their experiences. The networking component of the training enabled for the sharing of insightful information and lessons gained, strengthening our group’s security efforts.
