The President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya held a mentorship session with students of ADUE International School during their visit to the NAOWA National Secretariat on 8 February 2023. The students were led by the Managing Director of the school, Mrs Margret Malu, who was once the NAOWA Coordinator Army Headquarters Garrison Abuja.
Mrs Yahaya,in her remarks, appreciated the school management for visiting NAOWA Secretariat. While speaking on leadership, NAOWA President emphasized the importance of being knowledgeable enough to drive the leadership process and to remember that leadership is transient, but legacies are enduring.
The President NAOWA, in an interactive session, emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, resilience, reading, speaking, and listening skills, among others. She urged the students to be good learners and followers and to cultivate the zeal to learn from others and life experiences.
The President NAOWA said, NAOWA was established on the foundation of Unity and Charity and NAOWA has over the years transformed into a leadership institution where members get first-hand experience in human resource management, business management, public relations and etiquettes.
Mrs Margret Malu, the Managing Director ADUE International School in her remarks, stated that the great leadership qualities of Mrs Salamatu F Yahaya are worthy of emulation and that is why they were at the NAOWA Secretariat.
She further mentioned that the students yearn for mentors with the character traits of the President NAOWA. She urged the students to learn from the legacies of NAOWA and, in particular, from the person of Mrs Salamatu Yahaya. She appreciated the President, NAOWA, and her executives for the warm reception accorded to the students and staff of the school.
Highlights of the visit were an interactive session by the President NAOWA with students and members of staff, Presentation of Souvenirs, signing of visitors book and group photographs.
