President Bola Tinubu promised to address the issues of military equipment shortage and insufficient financing in order to improve the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces during the grand finale of the celebration of the 160th establishment of the Nigerian Army. The President recognized the selfless acts of brave officers and soldiers who gave their lives or suffered serious injuries while defending the country, including some who were left permanently disabled. He asked the Nigerian Army to conduct operations in accordance with international best practices, including humanitarian laws and rules of engagement.
The government is committed to eliminating all risks to national security as quickly as feasible, President Tinubu promised the Nigerian people. He acknowledged the public’s concerns about security and the government’s determination to address them.
