On June 5, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Abuja and the newly built Office of the National Security Adviser as part of a proactive effort to ensure national security.

President Tinubu received a thorough explanation of the newly constituted office and its strategic importance in defending Nigeria against new security threats while being accompanied by key security officers. In organizing security operations and advising the president on subjects relating to national security, the Office of the National Security Adviser is crucial.

The president praised the efforts of the security services engaged in the building of the NCTC and expressed his delight with the cutting-edge facilities. He underlined the significance of thorough information sharing and intelligence collection in order to successfully combat terrorism and other types of instability in the nation.

President Tinubu spoke with staff members from various security organizations that are tasked with guarding the NCTC during the tour. He acknowledged the sacrifices they make in the line of duty and praised their commitment to ensuring the security and welfare of the country’s population.

President Tinubu’s active involvement and commitment to putting national security first are demonstrated by the tour of the NCTC and the Office of the National Security Adviser. He showed his dedication to preparing Nigeria’s security system to handle the changing challenges of the twenty-first century by touring the new facilities and speaking with security officers.

The journey served as a reminder of the value of proactive steps and cooperation in maintaining Nigeria’s sovereignty and its inhabitants as President Tinubu’s administration got underway. The president’s dedication to security reform and his aspiration for a more secure and prosperous Nigeria created the conditions for an all-encompassing and strategic approach to addressing the nation’s security issues.
