Remains of Late Major Alexander Otuvie Have Been Laid to Rest in Kaduna

The remains of late Maj Alexander Otuvie has been laid to rest with full military honour on February 11, 2023, at the Common Wealth Cemetery Kaduna amidst sorrows and tributes from his family members, course mates, both senior and junior colleagues and friends among others.

In his remarks during the late senior officer’s final interment, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj-Gen TA Lagbaja conveyed the condolences of the Nigerian Army and 1 Division to family of the deceased. He stated that the late senior Officer was an outstanding fighter, a very regimented officer, disciplined, highly dedicated and above all, a courageous young man who discharged his duties and tasks deligently. He added that late officer dedicated his life to the service of humanity and fatherland and promised that the Nigerian Army will forever remember the gallant officer.

Earlier, the Commander 1 Division Garrison, Brig-Gen C Ogbuabo in the late senior officer’s funeral oration, described the deceased who died on 24 January 2023, as a gentleman senior officer, an outstanding fighter whose legacies would be remembered always by the Nigerian Army and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Highlights of the burial ceremony includes funeral church service, reading of funeral oration, consecration of the grave, lowering of the late senior officers body, presentation of national flag and other insignia to the next of kin of the late officer by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division among others.

In attendance were the wife of the late senior officer and his family members, Chief of Staff 1 Division, Brig Gen MK Gara, Comd 1 Division Garrison Brig-Gen C Ogbuabo, Comd 41 EB Brig Gen JO Attah, Comd 51 Signal Bde Brig-Gen OG Ogeleka, the Division Training Officer Brig-Gen BO Amakor, Chief of Staff OPWP Brig Gen SS Shehu, Comd 1 Prov Gp Brig Gen AHB Jibril, Air Component Comd OPWP, representatives of NAOWA 1 Div Chapter among others.
