On Monday, as several drivers withdrew their services, there was a spike in the cost of transportation in various areas of Lagos.
Previously cost of 150 Naira from First Gate bus stop to Orile along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway is now 250 Naira. Mile 2 to Ketu/Mile 12 is now 500 instead of 400 miles away.
Our correspondent also noticed that the few commercial buses that operate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway between Lagos and Ogun States now charge 800 for any bus stop from Berger Bus stop. Commuters are stranded as a result of the lack of buses and price increase.

To protest extortion by members of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, drivers operating under the auspices of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria are refusing to drive on Lagos highways for seven days.
