An air raid by two Nigerian Air Force fighter jets has killed many of the Islamic State of West African (ISWAP) terrorists over the weekend in the North East, Damboa in Borno State.
An Intelligence Source told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad that the terrorists were neutralized on Sunday after the Super Tukano bombed a moving convoy of the insurgents and several other motorcycles in the axis between Shettima Abbor and Galmasku of Damboa LGA, in Borno State.
NAF intelligence operative also confirmed that the air raid eliminated many Boko haram terrorists including those moving on motorcycles while others escaped.
He added that ”the subsidiary operation was an air interdiction operation aimed at taking out identified terrorists’ targets in the Lake Chad and Sambisa Forest areas of Borno”.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria, operating in concert with other security agencies and stakeholders, will sustain its efforts to rid the North East of all terrorists and other criminal elements,” he highlighted.
