There is no room for criminal activity in Abia State and the surrounding areas before, during, or after elections, according to the military and other security operatives in Abia, led by the Commissioner of Police (CP), Mustapha Bala, and Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi. This statement was made today, February 18, 2023, at the Joint Display of Force in Umuahia.

The CP advised hoodlums to leave Abia since the state would be too hot for them, according to his counsel. Anyone planning to cause problems during the elections should leave right away because we won’t let them, no matter what.

The threats made by the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN) to obstruct the conduct of the 2023 General Elections in the South East geopolitical zone present a real challenge that requires an aggressive posture through precursor operations in order to neutralize them in their hideouts, according to Brig.-Gen. Adegoke Adetuyi, commander of the 14 Brigade.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will receive assistance from the 14 Brigade and other security organizations operating in the Area of Responsibility to conduct the polls peacefully and smoothly throughout the State, according to Gen. Adetuyi. Moreover, the demonstration of power was conducted in order to rule and be perceived to rule the entire Abia State.

The Commander revealed that similar displays of force are being carried out simultaneously in the local government areas of Umunneochi, Aba, and Ohafia in order to instill confidence in the public and create a secure environment before to, during, and following the 2023 General Elections.

The Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army, Department of State Security Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Prisons Service, and Federal Road Safety Corps all participated in the display of force. The parade was without hiccups.
