Senior Military Officers Visits 7 Division, Inspects Ongoing Projects, Ascertains Professional Competence of Medical Personnel

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Waidi Shaibu has on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 received Major General ST Shafaru and Colonel IB solebo who visited Headquarters 7 Division Nigerian Army in their respective capacities as the Coordinator Nigerian Army Special Projects and Corps Commander Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

While stating the purpose of his visit, Major General Shafaru said he was in the Theatre as part of his routine to inspect ongoing Nigerian Army projects in order to ascertain the condition and levels of the projects and especially to see if they are been constructed in accordance with the contractual specification and standard prescribed.

Similarly, Colonel Solebo disclosed that he was also in the Theatre to assess the professional competence of medical personnel, the state of equipment as well as their performances and areas of need considering the nature of the ongoing efforts in the North East region.

In his remarks, the GOC, Major General W Shaibu welcome the senior officers to his office and expressed delight for having 2 important personalities regarding infrastructural development and the health and wellness of his personnel. He disclosed that the Division has put in efforts to assuage the plight of troops in terms of accommodation and other structural needs while a concerted effort has been made in expanding the medical facilities in the cantonment to carter for women and children.

He therefore, solicits for more support from the Nigerian Army Project Coordinator to assuage the acute shortage of accommodation faced by officers and troops within the cantonment as well as creating an enabling environment for the possible recruitment of young Doctors that will be posted to the North East to meet the teeming medical needs of personnel and their families.

Present at the occasion where the Chief of Staff Headquarters 7 Division, Brig Gen OM Oyekola, Commander 47 Engineer Brigade, Brig Gen IE Ekpenyong, Commander 7 Div Ordnance Services, Brig Gen RL Pam, Commander 107 Div Equipment Support, Col MA Abdullahi. Others include Principal Staff Officers of HQ 7 Division, Formations and Unit Commanders as well as members of the visiting team.
