
The ambush was said to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday along Kumshe-Banki road in Bama, Borno State.
Confirming the incident, a Counter-insurgency and Security Expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama said that the troops staged the ambush following a reliable intelligence report.
It was reported that the dozens of Boko Haram terrorists ambushed were among those who usually terrorist commuters and robbed them of their valuables within the area.
In response, the troops of the 157 battalion on patrol along the road paid off by killing about six of terrorists, while others escaped.
On October 11, 2022, it would be recalled that, 21 Armoured Brigade troops in Bama still under operation Hadin Kai, neutralised over a dozen terrorists on the Kumshe-Banki road, an effort that was highly commended by Nigerians.
