Delta State, Nigeria – The Joint Task Force South South Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) has handed over 12 suspected oil thieves to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Delta State Command for prosecution. The suspects, along with the vessel MV TURA II, were apprehended by troops of Sector 1 OPDS, operatives of TANTITA Security Services, and personnel of NSCDC while attempting to transport illegally acquired crude oil. The arrest took place off the coast of Escravos on July 7, 2023.
The successful operation was a result of the collaborative efforts of the Joint Task Force, private security operatives, and NSCDC personnel, demonstrating their commitment to curbing illegal activities in the region.
