The Commander 12 Brigade Pays Courtesy Visit to Ata of Igala Land, Assures the Security of the Community

In continuation of his courtesy visit to monarchs across Kogi State Brig Gen Isang Akpaumontia Commander 12 Brigade has paid a courtesy visit to Ata of Igala Land HRM Ata Agabaidu Dr Mattew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa Of Igala Kingdom at his Palace today 26 May 2023.

In his remarks, Brig General Akpamutia stated that the familiarisation tour and courtesy visit is geared towards paying homage to the monarch and soliciting his majesty’s support.
According to the Brigade Commander, he is honoured to be in the presence of the Attah of Igala Land and assured of the continued security of Igala Land and Kogi as a whole.

He was accompanied by other senior officers of the brigade and appreciated the warm reception at the palace of the Ata of Igala Land. The visit aimed to strengthen the bond between the military and the local community while fostering a spirit of collaboration in addressing security challenges.

Speaking during the courtesy visit HRM Atta of Igala Land appreciated the visit and made his gratitude known to the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Farouk Yahaya for his welfare gift to him. Furthermore, he said the Nigerian Army will always be welcome in his Kingdom anytime.

In another development, the Commander used the opportunity to get acquainted with his Area of responsibility as he visited deployments within Kogi State to assess their combat readiness.

The visit ended with a renewed commitment from both sides to work hand in hand, sharing resources and information, to enhance security measures within the Igala community. It expressed optimism that this collaboration would yield positive results in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Igala people.

The courtesy visit signifies a strong partnership between the military and traditional leadership, reflecting a united front in safeguarding the Igala community and promoting a peaceful and prosperous future.
