Major General Christopher Musa, the Theatre Commander (TC), Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has urged the recently promoted Major Generals of OPHK to not give up on their goals and new status, which comes with extra obligations, and to make a difference wherever they are.

On Saturday, January 7, 2023, General CG Musa made this statement at a banquet hosted in their honor by Headquarters Theatre Command. He stated that more is required of them in order for the Nigerian Army to fulfill its ultimate mission in the North East and the country as a whole.

In a similar vein, General Musa also expressed appreciation to the media for their professionalism, cooperation, and support in providing fair coverage and promoting military operations.

In his opening remarks, the President Mess Committee (PMC), Major General EH Akpan, thanked the TC for his creative solutions and generosity in rebuilding the Theatre Command Officers’ Mess and selecting them to oversee the Mess’s operations. He also thanked the GOC, sector commanders, and officers for their support despite the nature of their responsibilities in the theater. He continued by saying that their support has improved the mess’s financial stability and kept it afloat.

Major General Adewale Adekeye, Commander of the 21 Special Armored Brigade, gave a vote of appreciation on behalf of the newly promoted Major Generals. He thanked God Almighty for the promotion and the TC for planning the occasion. He also expressed his gratitude to the GOC and other senior officers for attending, saying that it was an honor.

The highlight of the event was when the Generals received gifts in appreciation of their support and contributions to the Theatre Command Officers’ Mess, along with entertainment and the formal supper.

The General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK were among the dignitaries who attended, as well as sector commanders, component commanders, formation and unit commanders, principal staff officers from HQ TC and 7 Division, senior officers, and representatives of the press.
