On February 2, 2023, Major General IS Ali, the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), visited the State Commands of the Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency as part of his familiarization visit to the heads of other security agencies in Borno State.

When Major General Ibrahim Ali arrived at his first destination, Commandant Musa Faruk Boyi of the NSCDC Borno State Command welcomed him with open arms. He then went to the FRSC Sector Command, where Corps Commander Utten I Boyi welcomed him, and after that he went to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency State Command, where Mr. Joseph Icha, the State Commander of the NDLEA Borno State Command, also welcomed him.

Major General Ibrahim Ali told the leaders of the security forces present during his visit that, “having assumed command as the Theatre Commander OPHK, I believe it important to visit and inform you of my commitment to build upon the already established cordial working relationship by my predecessor. Therefore, he continued, we must work together in order to build on the operational successes of the theater.

The various security heads pledged to provide the theatre commander with all necessary assistance to stop the roving BHT/ISWAPs in the north-eastern theater of operations in their separate reactions. As a way to weaken terrorist activities, the heads of other security agencies also vowed to work with the theater commander to share timely, intelligent intelligence.

The highlight of the trip was when Mr. Joseph Icha, the State Commander of the NDLEA Borno State Command, presented the Theatre Commander with a certificate designating him as a “DRUGS FREE AMBASSADOR.”

The Theatre Commander is accompanied by Brig Gen EJ Ikomi, who is in charge of the Theatre Logistics Component, Brig Gen OM Azuikpe, who is the Theatre Intelligent Coordinator, Col I Sule, who is in charge of the Commander Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters Theatre Command.
