The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa, continued his operational visit to front-line soldiers of 29 Task Force Brigade (Bde) in Sector 2 Area of Responsibility in order to strengthen the fighting spirit of troops and boost their morale in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counterinsurgency operations.
Theatre Commander was given a briefing on the activities of the Brigade by Brig Gen EO Ojabo, Commander of 29 TF Bde, after being welcomed by Maj Gen KA Isoni, Sector Commander, and other senior commanders of the sector. After that, the Theatre Commander addressed the troops and evaluated their deployment while touring the Units and Formations under the Bde.
The Theatre Commander assured the troops of the unwavering spirit of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, in providing the necessary logistics and platforms needed to enable them to neutralize all terrorist elements within their AOR. He was obviously impressed with the performance and turnout of the troops. In connection with this, he expressed the praise and gratitude of the Chief of Defence Staff and other Service Chiefs.
As a follow-up to his speech, Maj Gen Musa urged soldiers to uphold the trust placed in them by the Service Chiefs by remaining committed and dedicated to bringing calm and peace to the NE. He also stressed the need of staff continuing to be professionally and politically neutral as the 2023 General Elections draw near.
Earlier in his statement, Brig Gen Ojabo expressed the officers and soldiers of 29 TF Bde’s dedication and determination to annihilate the roving remnants of BHT/ISWAP terrorists by going to their strongholds. The visit to 156TF Bn Mainok, 273 Tank Bn Jakana, and 212 FOB Auno, as well as the evaluation of the troops’ combat preparedness, an operational briefing, and a speech to the 29 TF Bde troops, were the highlights of the tour.
