Damaturu, Yobe State – On Tuesday, the Theatre Commander (TC), Major General GU Chibuisi, left for a critical operational tour of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East’s Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK). He underlined the necessity for ongoing vigilance and alertness among the troops during the tour in order to deal with new threats inside their Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The Commander of Sector 2 JTF (NE) OPHK, Maj Gen MLD Saraso, gave the TC a warm welcome and gave a thorough overview on the actions of the sector. This visit represents a crucial step in improving communication and cooperation between the air and ground parts of the operation.

Major General Chibuisi addressed the troops at Headquarters Sector 2 and urged them to maintain constant vigilance to make sure that no potential threat is missed. To ensure peace and security in the area, he highlighted the necessity of taking firm action against insurgents and other criminal groups operating within the AOR.

Additionally, Major General Chibuisi exhorted both officers and soldiers to develop a good rapport with the general populace. He underlined how important intelligence gleaned from civilians would be to supporting continuing operations throughout the Theatre.

“We must never forget that the struggle against insurgency and criminal activity is a shared one. The local population is essential to our attempts to defeat the opponents, hence it is necessary to keep a close relationship with them, according to the TC.

The Theatre Commander also stressed the importance of soldiers’ continued dedication to the struggle against insurgency and other criminal activity. He promised the soldiers his unshakable assistance in overcoming the difficulties experienced by diverse regions within the Theater of Operations.

However, Major General Chibuisi sharply advised against any type of misconduct among the troops, emphasizing the possible effects such behavior could have on crucial missions. He argued that maintaining professionalism and discipline are essential to the success of continuous military operations.

Major General Chibuisi participated in a number of events during the visit, including taking a group photo with the soldiers and touring the level 11 Field Hospital, New Barracks, and Detention facility inside the Barracks. This showed his dedication to learning about the conditions the troops faced on the ground.

The Theatre Commander’s presence boosts the troops’ morale and affirms their commitment to maintaining the North East’s peace and security. Such visits promote solidarity and cohesion among the personnel as the military keeps up its unrelenting efforts to quell the insurgency and return the area to normalcy.
