On June 7, 2023, Brigadier General WM Dangana, the Director Combat Development at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), visited the Theatre Commander (TC) of Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General IS Ali, at the Headquarters Theatre Command in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.

The purpose of the visit was to inform the Theatre Commander about the upcoming second-quarter sensitization lecture on the Nigerian Army (NA) Doctrine 2022, organized by TRADOC. The lecture was scheduled to take place at the Theatre Command Officer’s Mess in Maimalari Cantonment on the same day.

Brigadier General Dangana explained that the objective of the sensitization lecture was to raise awareness among NA personnel about the content of the Doctrine and to collect data that would assist in its future review.

Major General Ali expressed his appreciation for the initiative and emphasized the importance of the sensitization lecture. He assured Brigadier General Dangana and his team of his full support in ensuring the success of the lecture.

The visit was attended by the Deputy Theatre Commander of OPHK, Major General KA Isoni, the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brigadier General EJ Ikomi, and other Principal Staff Officers of the Headquarters Theatre Command.

During the visit, the visitor’s book was signed as a formality, and souvenirs were exchanged as tokens of appreciation. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion.

The sensitization lecture on the NA Doctrine 2022 aimed to enhance the understanding of the doctrine among the officers and troops in the North East region. By disseminating the content and collecting valuable data, TRADOC sought to improve and update the Doctrine based on the operational experiences and insights gathered from the field.

The visit by Brigadier General Dangana and his team demonstrated the commitment of TRADOC to continuous learning, development, and improvement within the Nigerian Army. The collaboration between TRADOC and the Theatre Command of OPHK highlighted the importance of disseminating knowledge and fostering a culture of ongoing education and professional growth among the army personnel.

Overall, the visit served to strengthen the relationship between TRADOC and the Theatre Command, fostering cooperation and collaboration in enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of the Nigerian Army in the fight against insurgency in the North East region.
