Troops Arrest 2 Suspected Members of IPOB, Recovers 5AK47 Rifles, 3 Pump Action Guns, 2 Locally Made Pistols, Others in Enugu State

The Nigerian Army troops have invaded a suspected Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN) criminal’s den at Ogbowa Amata village in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu and Aguata in Anambra States.

This was disclosed during a media brief on Thursday at the Defence Headquarters by the Director Defence Media Operations Major General Musa Danmadami.

The Director highlighted that, during the raid, 2 suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra were arrested, while 5 AK47 rifles, 3 pump action guns, 2 locally made pistols, 11 cartridges, and 10 mobile phones were recorverd.

Other items recovered were 1 pair of police uniform, 1 pair of boots, 2 canisters of tear gas, 1 fragmental jacket, 3 locally fabricated tubes and 1 jack knife amongst other items.

In a separate operation on 13 October 2022, the military troops in conjunction with the Nigerian Police quickly responded to a distress call on criminal activities in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area and Isi Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.

During the operations, 9 suspected criminals were arrested. All arrested criminals and recovered items were handed over to the Nigeria Police for further action.
