Zamfara State, Nigeria – In a remarkable display of bravery and determination, Nigerian troops in Zamfara State have continued their relentless pursuit of bandits, resulting in successful operations that eliminated several bandits, rescued kidnapped victims, and recovered weapons and livestock.

According to information obtained by PRNigeria, the latest operation took place in Bakura, where troops from the Forward Operation Base intercepted fleeing bandits and repelled attacks on villages.

A military source involved in the operation revealed that the troops received credible intelligence about armed bandits launching attacks on Rogoji Village in Bakura and Sakida-Janbako Village in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Upon arrival at the targeted villages, the bandits hastily retreated upon sighting the advancing troops. Undeterred, the troops engaged in a pursuit, employing heavy firepower. As a result, at least five bandits were neutralized, and sophisticated AK-47 rifles and special ammunition were seized. Additionally, cattle, goats, and donkeys that had been stolen by the bandits were recovered during the operation.

The recovered animals were subsequently returned to their rightful owners in Makida Magaji village, restoring hope and joy to the affected communities.

In a separate operation, troops from the Forward Operating Base in Unashi, Kebbi State, conducted a coordinated fighting patrol in Sabuwa forest, located in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State. During this operation, they successfully rescued five kidnapped victims from the clutches of the bandits.

Furthermore, troops deployed at FOB Unashi embarked on another fighting patrol in Naruba forest in Zamfara State, resulting in the rescue of two additional kidnapped victims. The victims were promptly handed over to the appropriate authorities for further care and support.

Notably, the troops stationed in Magami successfully foiled a bandit attack and kidnapping attempt at the Dogon Santsi axis. They swiftly rescued the kidnapped victims, while some of the bandits met their demise.

The rescued victims were joyfully reunited with their families, thanks to the efforts of the troops, who handed them over to local authorities for proper care and support.

These successful operations demonstrate the unwavering commitment and bravery of Nigerian troops in the fight against banditry and the protection of innocent lives in Zamfara State. Their continued efforts bring hope and relief to communities affected by the activities of these criminal elements.
