To continue their efforts against criminal activity in the North Western region of Nigeria, troops from the 1 Division Nigerian Army conducted a clearance operation, neutralized bandits in the Kubusu forest and Kaso hills area of Kaduna State. The goal of the operation was to limit the freedom of action of bandits and other criminals in the area, creating a safe environment for economic activities and lawful businesses to thrive.
According to a statement from Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army, the operation in Kaduna State lasted several hours and resulted in the neutralization of five bandits. The troops also captured four AK 47 rifles, six AK 47 magazines, 24 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three motorcycles, one machete, two handsets, and some charms.
Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Punch, expressed satisfaction with the troops’ conduct and praised their dedication during the operation. He urged law-abiding citizens to continue to support the troops and other security agencies by providing credible and actionable information that could help in the fight against criminal elements.
