Bandit Leader

The 1 Division Nigerian Army’s Operation Forest Sanity troops ambushed and defeated legendary bandit leader Isiya Danwasa and his gang after receiving a tip from a human intelligence source. Following information that the bandit boss intended to send his errand boy Yunusa to buy some weapons and ammo in Kaduna town, this was done.

The messenger boy was tracked down and captured by soldiers wearing plain clothes, according to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army. He was then used to entice the bandit leader to a designated ammunition gathering area. The two bandit commanders were neutralized when troops who had been ambushed arrived and attacked the outlaws with greater firepower.

One motorcycle (destroyed), two AK 47 weapons, six AK 47 magazines, amount 250 rounds of 7.62 mm special, one power bank, two charm vests, and the value of two hundred thousand naira were among the items seized from the criminal elements.

Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Joint duty Force Operation Whirl Punch, praised the soldiers for their exemplary behavior and duty completion. He also ordered the military to pursue any outlaws without mercy. The GOC once more urged the public to keep providing the military and other security services with reliable and actionable intelligence in order to put a permanent end to banditry, abduction, and other crimes.
