The Islamic State West Africa Province ISWAP militants have suffered a significant loss as a result of a successful operation by Operation Hadin Kai troops. During an ambush in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, six ISWAP terrorists were neutralized close to Bula Yobe and Darajamal Road.

The Special Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force worked together to eliminate the terrorists on June 22, 2023. ISWAP members were the objective of the operation because they were well-known for their role in laying IEDs and committing roadside attacks.

Security professional Zagazola Makama from the Lake Chad area described the operation in Maiduguri in detail. The region is thought to have served as a shelter for the terrorists and a launching pad for their attacks. The successful ambush highlights the dedication of Nigeria’s security personnel to thwarting the plans of extremist groups and defending the civilian populace.

A big step toward enhancing security and reestablishing peace in Borno State has been made with the elimination of these six ISWAP militants. The coordinated operation serves as a reminder of the perseverance and tenacity of the Nigerian military and its allies in the war against terrorism.

The Nigerian government never stops urging people to be watchful and to alert the security forces to any suspicious activity. The effectiveness of counterterrorism operations and the preservation of peace and stability in the region depend heavily on the cooperation between the military and civilians.
