– Recovered items included 11 motorcycles, 1 explosive, and 3 guns.

16 people were saved by troops of Operation Forest Sanity in operations that took place along the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road and at a location in the Igabi LGA.

Operational feedback indicates that the troops reacted to a distress call along the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road’s Udawa-Manini axis. 15 people were saved when the army arrived to thwart the attempt. Some of the rescued people who had injuries were taken to the hospital right away for care.

Similar to this, Operation Forest Sanity troops ambushed a possible crossing site in Maraban Huda village after receiving a distress call from Gonan Doctor Village, Igabi LGA.

After the troops made contact with the robbers, a gunfight resulted in the neutralization of one of them.
A kidnapped victim was freed by the bandits despite being hurt, and was sent for medical attention to the Jaji Cantonment Hospital. A single motorcycle was found.

Additionally, troops of Operation Forest Sanity set up ambush positions around Mangoro general region near Chikun-Birnin Gwari LGA, on the border with Shiroro LGA of neighboring Niger State, in response to credible intelligence of bandits’ activities around an interstate boundary area.

Two bandits were defeated when the army fought the incoming ones. In addition, 10 motorcycles, an improvised explosive device, an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action gun, a Baofeng radio, and 10 other items were found by the forces.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai gratefully accepted the reports and expressed his happiness at the successes the security forces had achieved. The Governor thanked the forces for the successful rescues and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
