Rescued 22 Abducted

Zamfara State, Nigeria – In a daring display of bravery and skill, the Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadarin Daji successfully rescued 22 abducted individuals and eliminated several bandits in a series of operations conducted on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

The rescue operation, carried out by troops from Sector 1, Team 3 Magami, unfolded at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Dansadau. The abducted victims, consisting of 16 males and 4 females, were freed after a fierce gun battle with the bandits. Intelligence sources indicated that the troops, led by the commanding officer of the battalion, executed a meticulously planned ambush on the bandits’ location, resulting in a ferocious firefight that left some of the criminals dead.

The rescued abductees were promptly taken to Dansadau, where further action will be taken to ensure their safety and well-being.

In another remarkable encounter, troops from Sector 1 Team 10, deployed at FOB Wasagu, intercepted two locals who had managed to escape from a bandit enclave in the Birnin Gwari Forest in Kaduna State. These individuals had endured a grueling 14 days in captivity before their daring escape. After their rescue, they were handed over to the Magaji of Wasagu, facilitating their reunification with their families.

Additionally, the troops from the Forward Operating Base in Anka conducted a successful fighting patrol in the Gwashi District of Bukuyyum LGA in Zamfara State. During the patrol, two bandit terrorists were neutralized, and their weapons were seized, adding to the blow dealt to criminal elements in the region.

In a further show of their unwavering commitment to protect the populace, the troops responded promptly to a distress call in Kwatarkwashi. Bandits had attempted to abduct Comrade Nura from his residence in the Kwatarkwashi District of Bungudu LGA in Zamfara State. However, upon the troops’ arrival, the bandits fled the scene, evading capture. Despite their escape, the troops conducted an extensive search of the area, scouring the high ground between Tazame and Kwatarkwashi.

These recent operations signify the Nigerian Army’s dedication to eradicating banditry and securing the safety of the people in Zamfara State. The troops’ bravery, strategic planning, and swift response to distress calls continue to make significant strides in the fight against criminal elements in the region.

As the nation stands united in the face of these challenges, the Nigerian Army and its personnel remain resolute in their mission to protect the citizens and restore peace and stability in Zamfara State. The rescued victims and the communities they represent can rest assured that they have heroes watching over them, ready to respond to any threat to their safety and well-being.
