The Niger State Police Command would want to remind everyone of its recent accomplishments and add that, in the Gurara Local Government Area, two male adults were reportedly seen loitering near the Lambata-Bonu highway, according to information obtained.

Isyaku Anaruwa Abdullahi, 18, of Kwakuti village, was held via Kafin-Koro, Paikoro Local Government Area, whilst Muhammadu Sani Yakubu, 21, of Paiko-Kore village, was nabbed via Gwagwalada area of FCT Abuja. As a result, DPO Lambata sent tactical police squads and local vigilantes to the area.

According to a statement given to the media by the spokesman for the Niger State Police, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the two admitted to participating in the kidnapping rings terrorizing the Gwagwalada FCT Abuja, Lambata, and Kafin-Koro regions during questioning. Three phones were found on the suspects, and a total of N2,000,000.00 was collected as ransom to negotiate the release of two victims who had been kidnapped earlier in Gwagwalada.

In addition, they admitted that the Gwalo forest housed hostages. In order to locate the Gwalo woodland between the districts of Lambata and Kafin-Koro, the DPO boosted its mobilization. As the thieves fled from the hideout and left seven victims—six men and one woman—there, the tactical teams confronted them in a gun battle in the bush. After being found unharmed, the victims were treated at FMC before being reunited with their loved ones.

On January 21, 2023, at around 1:00 a.m., Mokwa Local Government Area and a Patrol team affiliated with Mokwa Div with local vigilante members were sent to the scene after learning about a weird gunshot heard in Tuntiko village.

Mohamed Bello of Bate-Ukpo village, Mokwa, was taken into prison while being searched in the close woods area around the settlement. He had a cutlass and a rifle made in the area. When questioned, the suspect admitted that he had planned to kidnap a person nearby with the now-wanted Dogo Yellow and Dogo Mai-Saje.

After the investigation is complete, all suspects will be charged and presented in court. Additional members of the syndicate are still being sought out and apprehended. Assuring the populace and the people of Niger that the Command will uphold its legal obligations to ensure a secure environment with the help of the public and the provision of adequate information to the Police, Niger State Command Commissioner of Police CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji wants to reassure the populace and the people of Niger.
