The University of Abuja (Uni-Abuja) is set to collaborate with the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) to enhance training in Electronic Public Relations (E-PR), Media, and Information Operations. This partnership aims to equip military personnel with cutting-edge skills in handling and managing military information in line with modern trends.
Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, Vice-Chancellor of Uni-Abuja, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Administration, Professor Philip Afaha, made this announcement during a courtesy visit by the Acting Commandant of NASPRI, Lieutenant Colonel Adamu Ngulde. Professor Afaha lauded the Directorate of Army Public Relations for its prompt information dissemination, underscoring the importance of aligning military communication strategies with contemporary media practices.
He emphasized that the military must stay updated with modern developments in media studies, complementing its kinetic operations. Afaha reaffirmed Uni-Abuja’s readiness to collaborate with NASPRI in training its personnel and students, granting access to the University’s Digital Library and Faculty of Communication and Media Studies for research, seminars, and workshops.
Lieutenant Colonel Ngulde, in response, expressed his gratitude to the university and highlighted NASPRI’s commitment to leveraging Uni-Abuja’s resources following its relocation to Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja.
