United Nations Department of Safety and Security Visits HQ CAR, Solicits Security of Humanitarian Workers

The United Nations Department Of State Safety and Security Field Security Officer Col Medhat Gafar (Rtd) and his team paid a courtesy call on Commander Command Army Records, Major General SI Igbinomwanhia to seek the collaboration of the Command towards safe conduct of United Nations activities in Kogi today Tuesday 24 January 2023.

In his remarks the Field Security Officer UNDSS Col Medhat (RTD) disclosed that the visit was necessary to interface with the military and other security agencies on ground to enhance and facilitate the security of United Nations Humanitarian workers wherever and whenever they are carrying out their humanitarian activities. He said the visit will no doubt allay the fears of humanitarian workers usually in hazardous and difficult circumstances.
Their visit he said will enhance collaboration which will be greatly appreciated.

Responding, the Commander Command Army Records, appreciated the visit and assured Col Medhat Gafar (Rtd) and his team of provision of security wherever they are in Kogi State . He further appreciated the efforts of UN in alleviating the suffering of the people in time of challenges.

Highlights of the visit were the Signing of the Visitor’s book, the presentation of souvenir and group photograph.
