United Nations Expresses

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF)’s goal to advance regional security and stability has received renewed support from the United Nations. United Nations expresses the commitment on Monday, July 3, 2023, while Brigadier General Matt Munro, the British Defense Advisor for Nigeria, visited the MNJTF Headquarters.

Brigadier General Munro underscored the United Kingdom’s intention to strengthen its strategic engagement with the international coalition in a statement released by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Military Public Information Officer. He acknowledged the MNJTF’s crucial role and emphasized the UK’s willingness to lend support to increase the task force’s operational capability. This dedication is anticipated to enable the MNJTF to make important advancements, including meticulous planning and skillful operation execution.

The Force Commander of the MNJTF, Major General Gold Chibuisi, expressed his appreciation for the British government’s assistance. Major General Chibuisi expressed gratitude for the support received through the Cell for Coordination and Liaison to MNJTF, a crucial conduit for the strategic alliance, represented by Deputy Force Commander Brigadier General Assoulai Blama. The Deputy Force Commander praised the British government’s continuous support and cited it as an example of international collaboration in promoting world peace.

The MNJTF was founded in 2015 to counter the threat posed by Boko Haram and other extremist groups in the Lake Chad Basin. It is made up of troops from Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Cameroon, and Benin. By coordinating combined military actions, intelligence sharing, and border control measures, it aims to advance regional security. The MNJTF’s efforts to combat terrorism and insurgency will be strengthened by the backing of the UK and other foreign allies, which will help maintain regional peace and stability.

United Nation

The dedication of the United Nations to helping the MNJTF highlights the value of international cooperation in resolving security issues and promoting peace in the Lake Chad Basin. The MNJTF’s relationship with the UK and other nations will be crucial to completing its mission and guaranteeing the region’s safety as it continues to operate.
