The Commander 4 Brigade Nigerian Army Brigadier General DH Ndahi has commended his troops for their patriotism and commitment towards peaceful coexistence, and protection of lives and properties particularly during the ongoing EXERCISE STILL WATER 2022 in Edo State. The commendation was done yesterday 18 February 2023 while making his remarks during the occasion of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA) which was held to mark the end of the year 2022 training cycle.
Commander 4 Brigade noted that the year 2022 was successful and ended on a high note with the ongoing EXERCISE STILL WATER II which recorded unprecedented successes in the area of curbing criminal activities in the State, particularly during the yuletide season; notably the rescue of kidnapped victims who were kidnapped on 7 January 2023 at a sub-station of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Igueben. According to him, this helps to boost the confidence of the populace and provides a secured environment for the peace-loving people of Edo State as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
The Commander 4 Brigade added that WASA is an occasion meant to take officers and soldiers away from their routine regimented life to an atmosphere where they can unwind and relax freely with one another as well as their families and civilian counterparts. He further urged commanders at all levels to remain focused, train hard and be ready to deal decisively with any threat to security within and outside Edo state. He admonished his men to maintain high level of security alertness, and to be familiar with their environment most especially during the conduct of the upcoming election.
Dignitaries in attendance at the event were; the Deputy Commandant Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME) Brigadier General UD Igbokwe, the Commander 107 Air Maritime Group Air Commodore NM Saidu, the Commander Military Hospital Benin Col PO Aburime and other Heads of security agencies within Edo State.
