Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, has expressed his gratitude to the officers and men of 177 Guards Battalion based in Keffi, for safeguarding the state’s unwavering peace and security.

At the Brigade’s decoration of newly promoted senior officers on November 4, 2022, which was held at the Scorpion Officers Mess in Asokoro, Abuja, the Governor, who was represented by his deputy Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, made this declaration.
While extending his congratulations to the senior officers who had just been promoted, Dr Emmanuel noted that the reason why the residents of the state live in peace and security is that the soldiers are working tirelessly to ensure that criminals in the state are unable to operate freely.

He expressed his congratulations to the newly honoured officers and emphasized that they had earned their promotion due to their previous service, devotion, and commitment to the nation’s defence.
In addition to wishing them well in their work, the governor praised their spouses for their support and prayers in keeping them on track.
While making his remarks, the commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Muhammed Takuti Usman, also used the occasion to once again urge the recently decorated senior officers to show greater loyalty to legitimate authority, adding that reciprocity is expected from those who receive favours.

The Commanding Officer of the 177th Guards Battalion, Col. Abdullahi Kolo Ali, who also received a promotion, thanked the Chief of Army Staff, the promotion board, and God Almighty for granting them the opportunity to see the decoration.
On behalf of the newly promoted officers, he also committed to upholding their loyalty and increasing their level of dedication in light of the work at hand. Major General Charles Ofoche, Brigadier General Lawson, and Brigadier General Onorveta (rtd), in addition to the celebrants’ families and other well-wishers, attended the senior commanders’ decoration ceremony.
