Brigadier General AA Babalola, commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade Nigerian Army, has expressed confidence in his ability to provide Kwara state security. During a security and operational briefing on the 22 Brigade Area of Responsibility for students of the Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course 1/2023 of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), who were on a study tour in Kwara State, he revealed this yesterday, May 2, 2023, at Sobi Cantonment Ilorin.

General Babalola emphasized that the Brigade has developed a synergy with other security services, traditional leaders, and government officials among others in order to ensure a secure environment and sustain long-lasting peace and harmony in the state.

He continued by saying that the Nigerian military will keep using various tactics to ensure that all acts of terrorism in the state were completely stopped.

Brigadier General AJ Aliyu, who served as the team’s Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies NACOLM, thanked the Commander for his unceasing efforts to protect the lives and property of the locals in the state through a variety of operations and maintained that the state had been free of terrorist activities as a result of the Brigade’s operations. He also urged the state administration to work with the Brigade to improve the state’s peace and security.

The students’ tour to the Brigade was intended to provide them with first-hand information about the security, political, and socioeconomic issues in the state, according to the students’ sponsor Directing Staff Lieutenant Colonel HT Gwary.

As part of the first day’s activities, the students went to the Federal Secretariat and the Araso Oke Weaving Association. The impact of information and cultural centers in Kwara State, the impact of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on the socioeconomic development of Kwara State, and enhancing security through socioeconomic development: Kwara State in perspective were the topics of lectures given during the visits.

The presentation of quarter guard, the courtesy visit, the interactive sessions, the tour of the Araso Oke facility, the presentation of souvenirs, and the group photos were the highlights of the tour.
