You Must Justify the Confidence Reposed on You – General Ibrahim Charges Newly Promoted Generals

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has charged senior military officers to justify the confidence reposed on them by the chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff. General Ali handed down the charge while decorating senior military officers serving under 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation SAFE HAVEN with their new badge of ranks in Jos.

This was contained in a press statement released to journalists in Jos by Lieutenant Colonel Ishaku Takwa, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 3 Division Jos.

The GOC noted that, the promotion of the senior officers was as a result of the confidence reposed on them to redouble their efforts in defence of the country. He charged them to remain resolute and more committed to their duties as there will be no room for mistakes. He further urged the officers not to disappoint the military leadership and their families but to keep the flag of the military flying.

The GOC/Commander OPSH also admonished the senior officers to adequately prepare for their retirement days. He noted that days are fast passing and the only remedy to a successful life after retirement is to plan adequately.

Appreciating the spouses of military officers, the GOC 3 Division/Commander OPSH said their prayers is key to the success of their husbands in the field. The promotion he averred was a result of family prayers answered.

In their words of encouragement, the Division Training Officer, Brig Gen S Adamu, Chief of Staff 3 Division, Brig Gen DD Kurmi and the Commander 73 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brig Gen St ER as well as the Commissioner of Police, Plateau state, Mr Bartholomew Onyeka, urged the promoted officers to be cautious while taking decision, always be ahead of adversaries and have good relationship with the creator.

Those decorated with their new badge of ranks were Brigadier General OJ Akande, the Commander 53 Signal Brigade Jos, Commodore MR Hassan, the Commander Sector 1 Operation SAFE HAVEN, Brigadier General OM Abiola, the Chief of Staff 6 Brigade Jalingo, Taraba state, Brigadier General S Adamu, the Commander Sector 3 Operation SAFE HAVEN and Brigadier General TM Opurum, the Commander Sector 7 Operation SAFE HAVEN Southern Kaduna.
