Seven wanted Zamfara terrorists leaders have been killed by Nigerian military fighter jets, according to PRNigeria. Two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) assault jets carried out airstrikes in Kaduna State to put an end to the renowned bandits.

Jibrin Gurgu, Isah Jauro, and Tambowal, all residents of the state of Zamfara, were among those killed, according to PRNigeria. Noti, Bala, Yunusa, and Burti, all known associates of Haladu Buharin Yadi, another wanted terrorist, were also eliminated.

According to a defense intelligence operative who spoke to PRNigeria, Operation Whirl Punch’s air component carried out the operation that killed the wanted terrorists at their known hideouts in the Giwa Local Government Area’s Alhaji Ganai, Buhari New, and Dogon Maikaji (LGA).

“Recall that the strikes became a required response to credible information from credible sources on increased terrorists activity in the general region,” he stated.

“As a result, on December 1, 2022, the strikes were approved. In Igabi’s Tsofa and Riyawa as well as Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari LGA, follow-up air interdiction missions were conducted against terrorists and enclaves.

According to the operator, feedback obtained indicated that the terrorists incurred significant losses as a result of the “hell” that was showered upon them.

“These air strikes have since been corroborated by the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security, Sam Aruwan,” the author wrote. “In a press release on December 2, 2022, he stated that military air strikes identified and dislodged 8 terrorists camp while freeing 10 kidnapped victims in the process.”

The NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, informed PRNigeria that their jets had carried out airstrikes. He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support of the NAF and other security forces, which has contributed to the recent military victories the country has had against terrorists.

He asserts that “the return of Internally Displaced Persons to their ancestral homes and the surrender of over 10,000 terrorists, and members of their families, especially in the last three months in Borno State, as well as the ability of Nigerians to freely travel on the Kaduna-Abuja Road, and other previously dangerous routes, are some of the signs that the efforts of the security agencies are true, yielding some positive outcomes.”
