GOC 82 Division Nigerian Army Decorates Newly Promoted Senior Officers, Urges Them to Remain Apolitical

Major General Umar Musa, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, awarded decorations to recently promoted senior officers who benefited from an Army Council-approved promotion exercise on December 21, 2022. The ceremony took place at Conference Room 82 Division Headquarters Enugu.

General Musa exhorts the recipients in his speech to stay politically unaffiliated and to distance themselves from politicians during the fourth upcoming general election.

The General further mentioned that getting promoted is a reward for effort and dedication. He also said that advancement comes from God and exhorted them to prepare for greater responsibility.

Brigadier General KU Sidi gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the newly promoted and decorated personnel. He thanked Almighty God for being present on this special day in their careers and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and President Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for approving their promotion. He also expressed his gratitude to GOC 82 Division for his leadership and direction. And he promised that they would keep serving their fatherland with their best efforts.

Brigadier General KU Sidi, Brigadier General RO Agbi, and Lt Col AP Omosigho are the newly decorated senior officers.
