Military Strikes in Sambisa Forest Kill 3 Boko Haram Terrorist Commanders and 30 Others

30 Boko Haram terrorists, including three commanders, were killed in multiple attacks by two Nigerian Air Force Super Tukano planes in Sambisa Forest. On January 1, the NAF Jet dropped bombs in four terrorist camps, including Bula Jitoye, Halka Kojoye, and Halka Alai, Bulamaye in Bama Local Government Area, neutralizing the militants.

In about 3 minuets video released by an expert on counterinsurgency and security in Lake Chad Zagazola Makama showed Boko Haram fighters on motorcycles destroying vehicles and makeshift homes while also killing a few ISWAP members. This came less than 24 hours after another lengthy battle between ISWAP and Boko Haram rival factions at the TOUMBUN ALLURA and KANGAR regions.

Ali Ngulde led the fatal rival attacks known as the “war of revenge” together with other top leaders Abu Nazir, Muke, Ba’a Isa, and Mallam Abubakar.

According to the sources, the coordinated joint air and ground offensive occurred just hours after the area saw fatal confrontations between militants. According to the sources, airstrikes in the Bula Jitoye camp resulted in the death of one of the Boko Haram  commanders, who was simply known as Captain or Medical Doctor.

He added that the two other victims, whose names have not yet been confirmed, died at Halka Kojoye and Halka Alai. The sources claimed that one of the Boko Haram terrorists was overheard saying, “We are slaughtering the ISWAP and stealing all their weapons,” in an intercepted contact. However, the fact that the aircraft are also killing us is our main issue.

We lost roughly 30 warriors on January 1, 2022, including three of our commanders. A doctor was also murdered in the strikes. One of the Boko Haram leader stated, “We want to attack them, but we’re scared of the jet. The Nigerian military has continued to report varying degrees of success in all operational theaters nationwide.
