
AG Commander NAWC Visits Exercise SHINING STAR 2026, Says “Professionalism and Teamwork Are Key to Mission Success”
The Acting Commander, Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), Colonel SM Ahmed, has visited troops participating in the ongoing EXERCISE SHINING STAR 2026 at the 177 Guards Brigade Range, Keffi, as part of efforts to assess the progress of the exercise and boost the morale of participating personnel.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Major NSIMA ESSIEN, Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Women Command, and made available to journalists in Abuja.
According to the statement, the visit afforded the Acting Commander the opportunity to interact with troops, observe ongoing training activities, and gain firsthand insight into the conduct of the exercise. Colonel Ahmed commended the personnel for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to duty, describing their professionalism as essential to the success of military operations.
Addressing the troops, Colonel Ahmed urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the exercise, stressing that professionalism, teamwork, and continuous training are indispensable to building a combat-ready force capable of effectively addressing contemporary security challenges.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army Women Command’s commitment to promoting excellence through rigorous training, capacity development, and operational preparedness, noting that exercises such as SHINING STAR 2026 play a vital role in enhancing the competence, confidence, and readiness of personnel in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
The visit concluded with an interaction with the troops and a tour of the ongoing exercise activities at the range.
