In a statement, the Nigerian Police Force implores the public to ignore a recent police recruitment poster that is making the rounds on social media. The Force made it clear that the recruitment for police constables for the class of 2022–2023 has not yet begun and that the advertisement is a hoax.

The force’s public relations officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, highlighted that the advertisement had nothing to do with the Nigeria Police Force and did not follow the established hiring procedure. The general population is advised to disregard the entire advertisement.

The Nigeria Police Force official website (https://www.npf.gov.ng), the official police e-recruitment website (https://policerecruitment.gov.ng), advertisements in national dailies, and official police social media accounts will all serve as platforms for the official announcement of the start of the 2022–23 recruitment exercise. The general public is encouraged to only rely on these trusted sites and sources.

The acting inspector general of police reaffirmed the current police leadership’s dedication to a uniform hiring procedure. In order to increase the overall efficiency and effectiveness of policing in Nigeria, it is important to make sure that qualified and eligible people are recruited into the police force.

The general public is exhorted to use caution and diligence in order to avoid falling prey to dishonest recruitment techniques. People can stay updated about legitimate recruiting announcements and guard against frauds by depending on the following official sources and sites.
