The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has received praise from the Executive-Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, for its tenacity and efficient security protection, particularly in containing the recent wave of crime and criminalities in Katsina State.

During a visit to the National Headquarters (HQs) of the Corps in Abuja, Governor Masari made this known and expressed his joy at the good deeds the NSCDC is carrying out in Katsina State and throughout Nigeria. This was revealed in a press release to media by DCC Olusola Odumosu, Director of Public Relations at NSCDC NHQ, Abuja.

He praised Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Commandant General of the NSCDC, as an outstanding leader with innovative evidence. Having known him for many years in Katsina, when he was the Provost of the NSCDC Training College, as a young, active, intellectually sound, and ready-to-work officer, it should be emphasized that he started his tenure extremely well and is now functioning wonderfully.

He explained that the basis for his visit to Dr. Audi’s office was the efficient service the Corps is providing to Katsina State under his direction. “Our experiences leading up to 2015 have helped us perceive and comprehend the circumstances facing the nation as a whole”.

“As a result, even though they lack sufficient numbers, logistics, and equipment, I stand in solidarity with men and women in uniform in their fight against insecurity”.

“For this reason, as other branches of the government, we have decided to keep giving your organization the vital assistance and resources it requires to prosper”.

“I am prepared and willing to provide all assistance required to make sure that Nigeria is properly governed”. “It is a responsibility that must be completed since the essence of government is to maintain lives, property, honor, and dignity of the people you control or are placed under you.

In response, the Corps helmsman expressed his excitement and happiness at the Governor’s visit, describing it as historic, and thanked the president for believing he was deserving of the elevated position of Nigeria’s top civil defender.

He was grateful to Governor Masari for his support of the Corps throughout the years, especially to Katsina Command and the NSCDC Training College there in terms of logistics assistance, operational vehicles, and infrastructure, among other things. “We will keep trying to the best of our ability to give you in Katsina more security support to checkmate banditry, kidnapping, and other associated difficulties, and our employees would work assiduously to ensure that Katsina people sleep with their two eyes closed.

Audi emphasized that the Corps is already preparing for the upcoming general elections in 2023 to ensure their success. “As an apolitical service, we will execute our tasks and work with other stakeholders to the best of our abilities to ensure that elections are conducted peacefully, credibly, and without animosity.
