Multi-National Joint Task Force

The Multi-National Joint Task Force has resumed its offensive against the remaining Boko Haram terrorists (BHT) in Lake Basin. MNJTF (Cameroun) soldiers conducted ambush operations on BHT logistic suppliers in Sector 1 in coordination with neighborhood vigilante groups near Maroua. During the procedure, six bags of various foodstuffs and ten bicycles were recovered. The local officials received the recovered items to be used in their further work.

In addition, Sector 3 Multi-National Joint Task Force (Nigeria) soldiers stationed at Gajiram while on patrol along Main Supply Route Monguno rescued suspected BHT family members, consisting of nine women and eight children, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Kamarudden Adegoke, the Chief Military Public Information Officer. The people who were saved are presently getting medical care and being profiled. A BHT collaborator was detained at the Federal Government Girls College in Mongonu on March 18, 2023, by troops working with local vigilantes (the Civilian JTF) in the same area. In the recently completed elections in Nigeria, the collaborator named Umar Goni, a native of Kukawa, was detained as he attempted to submit his ballot. He admitted to serving as a go-between for the Kukawa terrorists during the initial inquiry. A thorough investigation is still underway.

In a similar manner, Sector 4 Multi-National Joint Task Force (Niger Republic) troops continued to control their Area of Operation. The military personnel stopped twenty BHTs near Tegyessa between March 12 and March 13, 2023. Additionally, while on patrol, soldiers stationed at Bassa base detained and apprehended 10 BHT members. All of the suspects are in detention and being investigated informally. Additionally, while on patrol, soldiers from the same area detained 36 BHTs members in the southern region of Tamour. A BHT who voluntarily turned in his M80 rifle to the local authorities in Gueskerou was found during a night patrol the troops performed along the Ngagam-Djalor axis in order to further dominate the region.

Similarly, during a joint operation known as Operation KOUKOURI carried out by the Sector along with Nigerian soldiers of Sector 3, Kanama, Bula Buni, Maine, Tam Match 1 and Forest Matali 2 were completely under control. Twenty terrorists were neutralized while sixty-three suspected BHTs were caught alive in Dutchi, Cetomani Forest, Alagurno Forest, and Guma Saigala, among other locations covered.
