Nigerian Army Signals Pulls Out Retired Senior Officers in Grand Ceremony
The Nigerian Army Signals has ceremonially pulled out its retired senior officers in a colourful and dignified event held on April 10, 2026, at the Nigerian Army School of Signals in Lagos.
The ceremony, attended by serving and retired officers, family members, and well-wishers, celebrated the distinguished and meritorious service of the retirees to the nation and the Nigerian Army.
In a statement by Ibrahim Shittu, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals, the Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer, Abiodun Owolabi, described the occasion as a significant milestone marking the transition from active service to a new phase of life.
He commended the retired officers for their invaluable contributions, particularly in strengthening military communications in support of operations across the country.
Major General Owolabi also charged serving personnel to uphold the core values of discipline, loyalty, and professionalism, while assuring that the retirees would continue to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army.
Highlights of the event included the commissioning of the Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals Officers’ Mess, a luncheon in honour of the retirees, and the presentation of souvenirs to the officers and their spouses.
The ceremony underscored the Army’s tradition of honouring dedication and service, while celebrating the enduring legacy of its personnel.
