The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has eliminated three terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province ISWAP Terrorists in the Lake Chad region. One MNJTF soldier was hurt during the operation, underlining the ongoing dangers that the military must face in the fight against terrorism.

One soldier was shot during the encounter, according to intelligence sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad. Two AK-47 firearms were also found among the terrorists.

The 86 Battalion soldiers reportedly naturalized the militants on May 28 in the vicinity of Malam Fatori in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno.

A focused offensive against ISWAP terrorists was undertaken by the MNJTF, which consists of soldiers from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Benin, in the Lake Chad region, where the terrorist organization is known to operate. The action was a component of ongoing attempts to eliminate the threat presented by extremist forces and bring stability and peace back to the area.

Three ISWAP militants were killed by MNJTF soldiers who engaged the terrorists in a bloody gun battle during the operation. The outcome’s success is a testament to the soldiers’ professionalism, bravery, and resolve in facing down and defeating the terrorist organization.

However, one MNJTF soldier was hurt during the exchange of fire. The injured soldier received urgent medical care and is presently undergoing additional therapy to ensure a full recovery. The tragedy serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers and sacrifices undertaken by the MNJTF soldiers in their tenacious fight against terrorism and upkeep of security in the Lake Chad region.

The MNJTF Commander praised the soldiers for their valour and the operation’s success. He thanked them for their steadfast dedication to the work and their commitment to shielding helpless civilians from the atrocities carried out by terrorist groups.

The MNJTF reaffirmed its dedication to cooperating with other regional and international partners in the Lake Chad Basin to end terrorism and extremism. The ongoing operations against terrorist organizations show everyone’s commitment to reestablishing long-term security and stability in the impacted areas.

The MNJTF has urged the local populace to continue sharing crucial information that helps in identifying and neutralizing terrorist elements while remaining cautious and on guard. In order to stop terrorist organizations’ activities and guarantee the safety and well-being of the local communities, military and civilian cooperation is essential.

The MNJTF forces’ commitment and sacrifice, as they continue their missions, are a testament to their determination to fight terrorism. The killing of three ISWAP terrorists highlights the progress made in weakening the power of extremist organizations, but it also serves as a reminder of the difficulties encountered in achieving long-term peace and stability.
