The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has eliminated three terrorists from the Islamic State West Africa Province ISWAP Terrorists in the Lake Chad region. One MNJTF soldier was hurt during the operation, underlining the ongoing dangers that the military must face in the fight against terrorism.
One soldier was shot during the encounter, according to intelligence sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad. Two AK-47 firearms were also found among the terrorists.
The 86 Battalion soldiers reportedly naturalized the militants on May 28 in the vicinity of Malam Fatori in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno.
A focused offensive against ISWAP terrorists was undertaken by the MNJTF, which consists of soldiers from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Benin, in the Lake Chad region, where the terrorist organization is known to operate.
