Several terrorist hideouts in the Fakai neighborhood of the Shinkafi Local Government Area in Zamfara State have been successfully demolished by troops from Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma. In the battle against terrorism in the area, the operation, which took place on January 10, 2025, represents a major win.
According to a statement from Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, the task force’s Air Component provided support for the offensive operation. More than 25 terrorists were killed and at least 18 others were wounded when the troops cleared the infamous terrorist camps of Bello Turji and Mallam Ila.
The operation also helped seven abducted victims who were imprisoned in the camps escape, which dealt a significant blow to the terrorists’ illegal actions.
The unrelenting hunt for terrorist components within its joint operations area is still ongoing in Operation Fansan Yamma. All terrorist leaders and their associates have been forewarned by the task force to fully surrender and give up violence or face severe military action.
The public was comforted by the announcement that the military is steadfast in its resolve to bring peace and security back to the impacted areas.
