Troops Battling Boko Haram in the North-east Celebrated by General Yahaya and Air Marshal Amao

For morale-boosting purposes, the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai troops combating the Boko Haram insurgency were joined by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -General Faruk Yahaya, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air. -Marshal Isiaka Amao, for the 2022 Christmas celebration.

Speaking at the joint Christmas luncheon held at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, the Chief of Army Staff praised commanders and troops  of the Nigerian Army for maintaining the pace of the campaign to totally eradicate terrorism in Borno and the Northeast.

The Christmas dinner, which is attended by soldiers, journalists, non-governmental organizations (NGOS), and other security agencies, also includes awards giving recognition to the institutions mentioned above.

In order to totally eradicate all traces of terrorism in the North-east, the COAS urged the troops to step up their efforts. The COAS also emphasized that one of the goals of the visit was to meet soldiers who had been wounded while participating in various operations to combat insurgency in the region.

Let’s take advantage of the occasion to think of them and to pray for their souls and the souls of all of our brave colleagues who have passed on. Our thoughts are constantly with their families, and we ask that the Almighty grant them eternal peace. The general said.

General Yahaya advised Nigerian Army personnel and Operation Hadin Kai soldiers to stay apolitical and carry out their assigned responsibilities in accordance with the rules of engagement as the 2023 general election approaches. He stated that a variety of security issues have plagued Nigeria and have caused tremendous pain for all residents, but he emphasized that these issues are solvable and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to overcoming these issues in all of their assigned jobs and areas of responsibility.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, also spoke during the event and stated that the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Arm Force have maintained to call for professionalism from their troops to effectively combat challenges of insecurity.

He praised the collaboration of the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, police, NSCDC, Immigration, Customs ABC, and other security agencies in the Northeast against Boko Haram and ISWAP. General Yahaya pledged the Nigerian Air Force’s continuous assistance in securing the utter annihilation of rebels in the Northeast and throughout Nigeria.

Governor Babagana Zulum stated in his speech that after many years of Boko haram activity in the state, peace has returned to Borno State. Hon. Umar Kadafur, who was represented by his deputy, congratulated and praised the Nigerian military forces for their sacrifices and dedication to the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency and the restoration of calm in Borno State.

Major General Christopher Musa, the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai North-East, promised that the troops would keep up the pace in his welcome speech. He also prayed to the Almighty God for the souls of the dead heroes.
