AIG Ekpeji Resumes Office as AIG Zone 1, Solicits More Support from stakeholders in Kano

The new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Headquarters, AIG Ayuba Ede Ekpeji, PSC(+) has assumed office on 26th October 2022.

The AIG took over from Abubakar Sadiq Bello,psc, who was recently promoted to Deputy Inspector-General of Police and deployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The Curriculum Vitae of the senior Police officer as released by SP. Abubakar Zayyanu Ambursa, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer reads as follows;

AIG Ayuba Ede Ekpejo was born on 21st October, 1964. On completion of his primary and secondary school education, he proceeded to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English language.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 3rd March 1990 and trained at the famous Police Academy Annex Kaduna now Police Academy, Wudil, Kano. He has served in different state commands, zonal headquarters and Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He held several positions among which are:

I. Officer-in-charge Homicide – Kano State Command.
ii. Officer-in-charge Antirobery – Zone One Headquarters, Kano.
iii. Directing Staff – Police Staff College, Jos.
iv. Anti-robbery Force CID – Abuja.
v. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Advance Wing – Police College Kaduna.
vi. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) – Zone 7 Abuja.
vii.Deputy Commissioner of Police, (D.F.A.) – Katsina State Command.
viii. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Research and Planning – Force Headquarters, Abuja.
ix. Deputy Commissioner of Police, (D.F.A.) EKITI State Command.
x. Commissioner of Police (Welfare) – Force Headquarters, Abuja.
xi. Commissioner of Police – Kogi State Command.
vii. Assistant Inspector-General of Police – Zone 8 Headquarters, Lokoja.
Now the 22nd Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone One Headquarters, Kano.

He also attended many professional and leadership courses, seminars and workshops, some of which include:
I. Advance Detective Course.
ii. Tactical Leadership and Command Course.
iii. Strategic Leadership and Command Course.
The AIG is happily married with children. His hobbies includes: reading and farming.

The AIG is soliciting for the support and cooperationof all Nigerians living in Kano and Jigawa States for better service delivery in the Zone.
