Junior Leadership and Staff Officers Course 1/22 Pays Operational Visit to Ogun State

In continuation with the operational package organised for students of the Junior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (JLSOC) 1/22, a team from Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL) comprising the Commandant, Maj Gen AA Adeyinka, Chief Instructors, Members of Directing and Administrative Staff and students of JLSOC 1/22, visited 35 Artillery Brigade Step up HQ for EXERCISE STILL WATER 2, located in Mohammed Buhari Estate, along road Kobape, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The theme of the visit was “Appraising the Efficiency of the NA in Curbing Contemporary Security Challenges in the South West Region”. The visit commenced with an inspection of the Quarter Guard, by the Commandant NACOL, who was received by the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General IM Abdullahi. Additionally, a brief on the general conduct of the exercise was delivered by the Information Officer at the Information Centre. More so, the visiting team were conducted on a guided tour of the Base Camp and deployment of the various cells and their roles.

Similarly, the students were given lectures by distinguished Commanding Officers under command on the history, organization and roles of Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade in curbing security challenges in Ogun State.

More so, a paper presentation on Interagency Cooperation: A necessity for success in Joint Operations was delivered by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command. CP Lanre Bankole psc amongst other resource persons from sister agencies lectured on interagency cooperation as a key to a successful operation.

Present at the event were, the Director, Directorate of Army Recruitment, Resettlement and Reserve, Brigadier General AM Garba. The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre S Bankole, the Director, State Security Services, Mr Femi Eron, Commandant, Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta Commander (NN) JO Asetubobe, Commandant, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Barrister Archie-Abia Ibinabo, distinguished senior officers of military and paramilitary amongst others.

Highlights of the visit were a guided tour of the exercise Base Camp, various lectures and presentations, interactive sessions, an exchange of souvenirs, refreshments and a group photograph to climax the visit.
